As an independent industry body, Exporters Western Cape is fully supportive of this initiative and has been since the outset of the discussions.
The 2025 World Bank’s report of the low rating of the Port of Cape Town, taking cognizance that in 2024 PoCT ranked number one on the list of 20 most improved ports, (Durban took the honors in 2025), Dr Ivan Meyer, Minister of Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism, published on 13th July, 2026, the Western Cape Government four decisive action plans to improve efficiency in the Port of Cape Town.
In endorsement of this initiative, Exporters Western Cape reminds all our valued members and stakeholders that Ms Ilse van Schalkwyk, Deputy Director-General, Strategic Economic Accelorators, Western Cape Government, will deliver the keynote address on this very important topic at ythe ROckefelle Hotel, 12 Christaan Barnard Street, Foreshore.
