As July draws to a close Exporters Western Cape enters its 48th year tomorrow and it is time to reflect on who we are and what we stand for.

We have never changed our vision and have consistently remained true to our core values which in today’s uncertain world, is no mean feat!

The fact that we have retained our independence is very much thanks to our loyal members who have supported EWC, even during the COVID-19 lockdown and sponsors for specific events.

Our independence enables us to participate in the following, inter alia:

• quarterly PCC (Port Consultative Committee) meetings as the voice of the port user, which reports directly to DoT;
• Council member of the Cape Chamber
• the LTAB (Land Transport Advisory Board) of the CoCT
• Director of the HKSACC (Hong Kong South Africa Chamber of Commerce)
• Chair of the PLF (Port Liaison Forum) of the Cape Chamber and
• Proudly at the forefront of setting up the weekly online stakeholder engagements with the port, in October 2019, which continue to this day.

This is besides our monthly in-person functions on matters of interest to the industry.

On that note, a reminder about Wednesday 5th important engagement – invitation attached.

On the port side, CTCT bettered its daily performance yesterday with 2575 actual moves, (target 2400) which is number of containers, NOT TEU’s – well done to the team!!

We are proudly South African and welcome ALL on board!

See you on Wednesday!
