Friday News

There is so much good news coming from the port, that Exporters Western Cape plans to host a special...

Dear Colleagues

This week has seen some exciting developments on the homefront.

Firstly, the Rand strengthened and we are looking at an inflation target of under 3% – we are getting to a point where the Western Cape will be THE place to invest/buy/live/retire!

As proof of this was the highly successful WCIS25 – Western Cape Investment Summit 2025 held at the CTICC from 5th – 7th November, being oversubscribed due to the phenomenal interest in our province.

EWC was honoured to be invited to this prestigious world-class event and congratulations to the CoCT and WCG for hosting this – the 1st first and hopefully not the last for our city and province.

That was last week and now this week we hear that South Africa plans to bid for the Olympics in 2036 or 2040, and the 2035 Rugby World Cup??!

This is exactly what we need to bring all South African together as one, as we did at the World Cup 2010 and proved all the naysayers wrong – when we unite, we are a formidable force!

This will change the narrative of our country and provide massive FDI, employment, infrastructure upgrades, both road and rail and our spanking new CWA will be fully operational.

Even though the White House has scathing reports on South Africa, contrary to this,  we are thrilled to be co-hosting, in collaboration with Select Florida, a group of Florida businesspersons at our next cocktail event on Thursday, 4th December, at Bowman, Bree Street,

Invitations will be in your inbox early next week!

Our Next Report on Friday 21st will provide port stats – in the interim enjoy the week ahead!

As Exporters Western Cape, we endorse these incredible initiatives and are proud to be South African!!
