Dear Colleagues

Happy Spring Day!

It may not feel like it, but spring is on its way.

This has been an extremely challenging few weeks for the port of Cape Town due to, inter alia, inclement weather, equipment challenges, both land and waterside, and slow working of the gangs,

The good news is that this has been acknowledged by TPT, who issued a communique on Wednesday relative to this – we acknowledge and appreciate their undertaking in resolving the current issues.

As EWC has always stated ‘We are better together’ and must work in co-operation and collaboration.

The IMF in their quarterly review stated that growth in SA is currently at 0.03%, however if we could get our logistics supply chain back on track, the growth factor can increase to 2½ – 3%.

Interesting fact and endorses the need to work to grow our economy together!

Thursday 7th is Exporters Western Cape AGM so all members please ensure your attendance to hear how we are moving into the future, if interested in coming on board the committee, please let me know.

Please note we are not reflecting the stats for the terminals for week 21 – 27/08 and (hopefully) will return with excellent figures for the coming week/s.

We have our quarterly stakeholder in-person engagement on Tuesday 5th September, should you wish to bring anything to the attention of TNPA Exco, please drop me an email at : info@ecwc.org.za
