As I head off to The Netherlands on Sunday, attending the Invest in Africa summit in the Hague (www.investinginafrica.eu), the GNF will be taking a hiatus until Friday 3rd May.

This summit will not only give the City of Cape Town and Western Cape an opportunity  to market our beautiful city and province, but also to provide FDI into our region and grow our employment opportunities.

At Exporters Western Cape we have great confidence that we can be benchmarked against the best  and will continue on this drive to attain this.

For those fortunate enough to attend the presentation by CWA (Cape Winelands Airport) at our event on Wednesday, 3rd  April could feel the palpabe energy in the CTICC from the audience present.

The development will be the conduit for growth along the West Coast corridor, providing much needed employment opportunities from nearby Atlantis & Saldanha.

Another game changer will be the Culemborg site, now in the hands of Transnet and adjacent to the Port, it could not be better positoned.

My Netherlands visit will also include a visit to the Port of Rotterdam, which, as one of the best and busiest in the world, will certainky be interesting to witness a successful port 1st hand.

Back to our port for the week   01- 07 April, when both CTCT and CTMPT were adversely affected by the extreme weather conditions, both being windbound from 5th – 7th April affecting their performance.

Our next function is on Tuesday 21st May when we will have an overview of this years fruit season, so please diarise the date.

Always in exporting!
