GOOD NEWS FRIDAY – 16th Aug 2024

This certainly is a Good News Thursday – the sun is shining and the temperature is rising, albeit slowly from a very cold base...

Welcome to another Good News Friday…

The Western Cape has experienced its wettest July since recordings began and this is reflected in our 104% dam water storage.

We need only to reflect back 6 years when day zero was looming and be thankful that we got through it, because we all worked together to overcome this!

This is cause for reflection on the informative and successful quarterly stakeholder meeting that was held, in person, on Wednesday 7th August, under the auspices of TNPA.

Well done to Ophelia and her team for hosting such an informative meeting.

The only downside is that the shipping lines do not ordain to join us at these important meetings, and one needs to ask – why?

As EWC, we have addressed this directly with the major players on this berth and never received a definitive answer

This is troubling as we should all be on the same page and work together as Team South Africa – watch this space as there is more to follow in the coming weeks…..

Transnet CEO, Michelle Phillips, provided an insight of the next 12 month of the 18th recovery plan for the organisation, at a Webinar on Wednesday – you can feel the new energy that is on board the parastatal.
