We have good news in abundance today!

One of the highlights this week was the EWC function at The Flagship at Portside on Wednesday, when the Mother City put her best foot forward & showed us why we are so passionate about living here. There can be no more beautiful spot on planet earth than our fair city – this is why we continue the fight to ensure she retains her Global status and recognition. This is all said in acknowledgement of the weather challenges we do face, as paradise comes at a cost!

The good news of the week is that the mobile ablution facilities at the ITSA are in operation, much to the ‘relief’ of our trucking fraternity!

The terminals for week 20 – 27/02 fared well, as follows:

CTCT: 12621 TEU handled, even though was windbound for 42 hours, noting that for month of February, 231 hours were lost to wind, 399 rail moves, a good uptake on previous weeks. Night runs down this week at 8%

MPT : Also fared well with 2520 TEU moves out of target of 1318, affected by wind on Wednesday 22nd, not as severe as CTCT
It was noted that Tuesday 21st, major truck congestion occurred, as truckers arrived without bookings or nor in their allocated time slot.
All equipment operational.

Benchmarking our Ports:

TNPA has taken the initiative to engage with PWC to do a study on how to return our port system back to global best practise; as EWC we are involved in this important study, which will be completed by end March, watch this space!

Here’s to a wind-free great weekend!
