Dear Colleagues

After an excellent quarterly in-person engagement with the Transnet team yesterday we can certainly feel new energy within our industry.

We must never forget the nearly 2 years of restrictive meetings and engagement and the quick recovery that has taken place – if you recall this was not the prediction less than 18 months ago.

The naysayers said it would take years to get back to ‘business as usual’ and here we are, enjoying life again and making the most of every day -I certainly trust you are!

We face our challenges head-on and as a collective improve issues as we take cognisance of this within the PoCT framework.

Less than 18 months again the CTMPT was virtually non-operational, the CTCT was a 2- berth operation, vessel berthing delays were acute – lest us never forget the place where we have come from and where we are today.

Yes, there are still challenges, however through these engagements we can and will resolve these issues,

The more we work together, the better we are!

Performance Indicators for week 24 – 30 as follows:

CTCT : 14264 TEU, 8.25 hours fog delays & 14 hours for vessel ranging at 601; 14% night moves with 150 rail moves
CTMPT : not available for this week
FPT : 6 Vessels handled; Dry Bulk: 2, B/Bulk 1; Multi-Purpose 2; Cement 1;  Containers 219; Dry Bulk 16523.49 MT; Canola 26981.41 MT; B/B 2797.96MT; Fruit 4225 pallets, Cement: 14414 MT (great week!)

Reminder : As EWC collating export potential for trade under the AfCFTA Agreement, please let me have any business opportunities you might be aware of that will benefit from this free trade area.

In Unity!
