GNF is taking a back seat for today as of more concern is the fact that both CTCT and CTMPT are and have been devoid of vessels this week, with a few exceptions!

This begs the questions : is this due to a slowdown in our economy or due to vessels bypassing the PoCT, thanks in no small part to the World Bank Report placing us at number 405 on list of worst performing ports?

Having said that, EWC was in a 5½ engagement, as a member of the Western Cape PCC, with the NPCC on Wednesday to better understand the dynamics that TNPA is operating under.

There are many issues at stake and the general consensus is that we are not all on the same page or have the same vision for our port system which, in a nutshell, to have a working sustainable port system coupled with working equipment.

It is pointless doing feasibility studies for port expansion when the fundamentals are not working!

This is where EWC comes into play, as an independent voice of industry and your continued support is vital to continue on this trajectory.
