Dear Colleagues
There is so much good news coming from the port, that Exporters Western Cape plans to host a special TNPA evening in November to highlight the achievements over the past year.
We need to get this message out to the international carriers who still appear under the illusion that the port is not functioning and route via Port Louis, for example, resulting in congestion at that port and vessels bypassing.
Besides our cruise terminal which has been voted best in Africa and is now nominated for amongst the world’ best, the TOA (Terminal Operator Agreement)
between TNPA and FFS Tank Terminals which will an upgrade to the tune of R195.7m.
In April AGL Terminals took over the control of A Berth which is operating smoothly as we receive weekly updates of vessels working alongside, thanks to FPT!
There are also discussions taking place between the port authorities, the city and Western Cape Government to work in collaboration as the port is a vital part of our city and province.
This will be a 1st for South Africa and a move in the right direction – fully supported by Exporters Western Cape as we recall the earlier discussion around ‘the people’s port’
With all this in mind, we will take our rightful place on the globa stage and become a Tavern of The Seas again

* Fruit : The citrus sea is complete and now awaiting deciduous in a few weeks’ time
