Tariff Application

 The National Ports Act, Act 12 of 2005 (“the Act”) read with Directive 22(1), as issued in terms of section 30(3) of the Act, requires the submission of a tariff application on the 1st of August annually or at such longer intervals as the National Ports Authority (“the Authority”) and the Ports Regulator of South Africa (“the Regulator”) may agree.
On 01 August 2025, the Authority submitted to the Ports Regulator its Tariff Application for the 2026/27 financial year which may be accessed on the website of the Ports Regulator – Link: NPA Tariff Application 2026/27
The Application sets out the proposed tariffs for the 2026/27 tariff period, as well as forecasted tariff for the outlying two periods. In addition, the Application sets out the forecasted CAPEX plans, OPEX costs, PTIP Application, and various other related tariff elements.

The Regulator will host a series of Roadshows as part of the public consultation process, as per the following dates:

  • 29 August 2025:          Western Region – Venue: TBC (Cape Town)
  • 02 September 2025: National Region: East London & Gauteng – Venue: Virtual
  • 05 September 2025: Eastern Region – Venue: TBC (Durban)
  • 08 September 2025 : Central Region – Venue: TBC (Port Elizabeth)
