This certainly has been a good news week with all the major fundamentals coming into play with CTCT outperforming itself
The following notation confirms this:
n Week 14, the terminal handled a throughput of 20,733, marking a significant operational milestone. This is the first time the terminal has reached this level of performance since August 2019.
Building on the momentum from Week 14, the terminal delivered another outstanding performance in Week 15 by handling 2,807 units in a 24-hour period. Despite losing 33.8 operational hours due to adverse wind conditions, the terminal still achieved an impressive weekly throughput of 18,361.
This performance is a testament to the team’s resilience and ability to maintain strong productivity under challenging operating conditions.

The Western Cape Government launched their Export Strategy this week, with the main focus for their G4J (Growth for Jobs) intiative, being exports, planning to become a multi-billion rand industry by 2035 – it’s now up to us to deliver!!!
In celebration of the contribution then President Nelson Mandela made in the 1st 5 years of our democracy, Exporters Western Cape will be launching in collaboration with the ICFF (Institute of Customs and Freight Forwarders) an opportunity to upskill our youth.
It was Madiba who brought to fore that the youth are our future, our industry in particular needs the next generation/s to be made aware of the opportunities offered in this diversified industry.

As the renewal of Section 122 of the 10% tariffs falls due on the 25th of July, and the uncertainty surrounding this, we approached Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau, to provide the keynote address at our July function,
The Minister is only available early September at the earliest and as our exporters cannot wait until then, the Minister’s office has taken cognisance of our concerns and has committed to one of the Deputy Minister’s to provide the keynote address..
