As the middle of 2025 draws near, tomorrow being the winter solstice, this season ‘s citrus exports has seen an increase of 5% YTD from CTCT and up 7%
from all Cape Town terminals.

This is in conjunction with excellent results from all 3 terminals for week 24 (09 – 15/06) as follows:

* CTCT : 18382 TEU handled (target 11887); 18 GCH (target 15) SWH 41.5(target 32) 29% stack occupancy 348 rail moves; (tell this to the World Bank!)
* CTMPT : 1387 TEU handled (target 393) 12 GCH (target 16) SWH 15 (target 19)

* FPT : Stack Occupancy ; 77% 11 vessels handled: 1 container, 7 Multi cargo, 2 Dry bulk, 1 breakbulk; in addition worked 2 bulk vessels at A berth

Vessels berthings on arrival – Well done, Port of Cape Town!

The only black cloud on the horizon is the Merchant Shipping Bill, which if implemented in its current format, will have a far greater impact on the
Western Cape economy than President Trump’s planned 30% import duty!
